The communities of Brixen im Thale, Kirchberg in Tirol und Westendorf are nestled between the Hohen Salve and the Kitzbüheler Horn mountain ranges on the sunny plateau of the Brixental, around 800m above sea level.

In contrast to many other alpine valleys, the Brixental does not come to a dead end, but is open at both ends. It links to the Inn Valley in the west and to the Kitzbühel area in the east. The Ice Age glaciers caused the valley to form a bowl shape, and the ancient rock formations make for ideal walking terraine.
