Brixen im Thale lies in the centre of the Brixental valley and the Kitzbühel Alpens, approx. 10 minutes from Kitzbühel und 20 minutes from the motorway exit in Wörgl. As far back as Celtic and Roman times this area was recognised for its healthy air quality and in the 19th century Brixen was known as a spa resort, visit by Marie-Louise von Habsburg, Napoleon's second wife.
