The Hohe Salve - Tyrols best View

The Hohe Salve (1,829m) with the little Salve church, the highest pilgrimage church in Austria, guarantees a stunning 360° panoramic view of more than 70 peaks above 3,000 m – a very special high.

This popular peak can be reached on foot leaving from the Hochbrixen top lift terminal going via the Filzalm in approx. 1 - 1 1/2 hrs. walking time or by taking the comfortable Hochsöll/Hohe Salve gondola. Once up there, you will be greeted by an amazing view.

Right on the mountain summit you will find the Salve church, built in 1641 and a small pilgrimage church with an early baroque high altar.

Opposite the Salve church is the Hohe Salve mountain restaurant with its revolving terrace, which constantly provides you with a sensational view of the surrounding mountains while you eat.

Thanks to the construction of a gondola at the summit, whose terminal has been built cleverly into the mountain so can barely be seen, there is now also a viewing platform facing north with a wonderful view of the Wilder Kaiser. From here, on a clear day, you can see far into the Inn Valley and all the way to Bavaria. You will find other attractions as well such as a wind harp, sundial stations, a larger-than-life face of a giant for children to climb and a petting zoo at the mountain restaurant.
