At 1,670 m above sea level, the Alpenhaus is a well-known and popular attraction and starting point for numerous walking and hiking paths.
Making your way up there is very easy when you take the Kitzbüheler Horn cable car or drive on the well developed panoramic road (length 7.5 km, width 6m, max. height 3.8 m).
Turn off approx. 2 km north from the centre of Kitzbühel. The wonderful view of the Kitzbühel Alps, the Großglockner (3,797 m), the Hohe Tauern with the Großvenediger (3,674 m), the Zillertal Alps and many other mountains is simply amazing.
Don’t miss the Alpenblumengarten (alpine flower garden), which at 1,880 m is easy to get to in about 30 mins. by foot from the Alpenhaus following the path to the Horn summit (2,000 m).
The Alpenhaus is open continuously from approx. mid May until beginning November. The buffet system in the restaurant ensures speedy service at your table, perfect for large groups. Good, wholesome food, large range of daily homemade dishes created using the house’s own ingredients.
